Worm screws and worm wheels |

A worm gear consists of a worm screw and a worm wheel. It is for perpendicular power transmission by simultaneous height offset. As a rule, the driving element is the worm screw. So that wheel/worm can be combined to a worm gear, an equal centre distance and equal transmission ratio must be assured. The centre distances are available ex stock in small steps between 17 mm and 80 mm. Several transmission ratios are available per centre distance. |
norelem worm gears are suitable for producing worm drives with an axis angle of 90°. With worm drives, very large speed reducing ratios (up to 100:1) are realisable.
Other advantages:
- Quiet running - Low vibration |
The right hand, case-hardened steel worm screws have ground flanks and bores. The teeth have the flank form K. The worm gear is also finish bored. |

The product range from norelem only includes bronze worm wheels. The reason for this is simple, bronze guarantees the best glide and dry-running properties compared to other materials. The aluminium content also assures high chemical resistance. Worm wheels are highly suitable for continuous operation with high speeds and high torques. |
