Latches are used mainly as simple and secure fasteners in industrial applications. They ensure a secure hold and lock in a wide range of designs and can be used for hatches, covers, container lids or machine cladding. |
Depending on requirements, norelem offers latches with spring clip, draw bail or with moving swing bail. They are available in both steel as well as stainless-steel designs. In addition, the product range from norelem includes adjustable latches, which are offered in both a standard and heavy-duty version. |
Adjustable heavy-duty latches are particularly suitable for high tensile loads. For this reason, the forged latches are often used in the construction of commercial vehicles and agricultural machines, which requires the transportation of loads weighing several tonnes. The latches are fitted with a lock in the form of a catch to ensure that transportation and other work can be performed smoothly. This prevents inadvertent opening when closed. The swing bail can be configured accordingly via a spindle in order to be able to compensate for resulting tolerances. |

Alongside numerous latches, norelem also offers a range of slam latches. Slam latches are particularly suitable for securely locking doors and hatches. They are characterised by their high flexibility and ease of assembly onto conventional profile cross sections. They are mounted using M6 cap or pan head screws (M6).without the need of laborious mechanical alterations. |
The functioning principle is simple: when the grip is pulled lightly back the catch withdraws into the latch and the door can be opened. A light push on the door is sufficient to close it and engage the latch. Furthermore, they are secured to prevent removal when closed. |
Slam latches with integrated safety function are suited to sensitive access areas. They are certified to ISO 13849-1 (Cat. 4/PL e) and therefore guarantee the highest levels of safety. The special slam latches are connected via an M12 connector |
As an addition to the slam latch, norelem also offers an emergency opener which prevents people from becoming inadvertently locked in. These openers enables doors to be opened from the inside in an emergency. |
